Home with our Baby!

Well, we've made it back to our house, and have settled in a little. Fortunately, Michelle was sure that we were very prepared for our little girl. We got to come home, and did not have to set up a single piece of baby furniture, bedding, toys, bottles, NOTHING.

Leah is doing really well, getting into her feeding schedule here at home. Steven and Kate are so happy to have their little sister home. They both complained (cried) last night when they went to bed that they wanted her at home. Steven insisted that she come back and give him a kiss before he went to bed.

Thanks for all of your well wishes, and comments here on our blog. We've definitely felt removed from our family, and this has been a great way for us to feel like we're sharing this moment with all of you. I hope to stay on top of this much better now, as we'll want to continue sharing the moments with all of you who we love, and miss very much!! Here are some pics/vids to catch you up for the last 24 - 48 hours.

Baby Leah

Well, here is our family at home before we left for the hospital tonight. Steven and Kate stayed at home with Michelle's friend Lisa (expecting a boy in 2 weeks), so we could handle this minus the children. You can see it on Michelle's face, she was happy to have made it to this day.

Well, the wait is finally over. Leah was born tonight at 6:31, in Norfolk, VA. We have a Virginian in our family now.

Now here is one of me, holding Leah for the first time. She was so quiet, and so sweet. She was a fighter to even come out, very stubborn. But now that she's here, she is just such a blessing.

And of course, you can't forget Grandma. She was here the whole time to support our family, and especially Michelle during labor. She has been such a great help to us over the last two weeks, we couldn't have been so well prepared without her. Love you Jo!!
Here are just a couple cute first pictures of the babe!!

Killing Time!!

Just a couple random pics from the delivery room while Michelle sleeps. First one is just her monitor, Leah's heart is beating strong at 143 bpm.

Here is the cute cap (empty) that they have laid out for her in the little bed. I'll make sure to put up pics with the cap (filled, of course) in a little while.

Water is Broken!!

They just broke Michelle's water, so it is just a matter of time now. She's practically sleeping now, kinda funny actually!

Sweet Relief!

Shelly got her epidural in, she's feeling much better. She's gonna try and sleep, get her strength back, and get this little girl out.

Stay Tuned!!

At The Hospital

Well...we're at the hospital right now. Yep, they have wireless internet in the labor and delivery rooms. (Don't you just love technology)

Here is the skinny: We got here last night at 8pm, and got right into our room for Michelle's induction. It took until approximately 10pm for Michelle to be on an IV, ready to start some DRUGS!

Long story short, it is now 12:15pm the next day. Michelle is now dialted to about 4cm, 80% effaced, and getting an epideral in the next 30 minutes.

If we stick to the patterns from the past, Leah should be here before dinner time. (fingers crossed, no jinx!)

I'll try to get a post up with pictures after she's born, until then....have a nice afternoon.
